I have previously stated that the long slide Glock is a good special team pistol for use by agencies that issue Glock pistols. However, the long slide Glock is also a great home defense and competition pistol. For those that can conceal the piece beneath covering garments, the Glock long slide is a viable defensive handgun. In the proper caliber, the pistol is also useful for hunting thin-skinned game.
Taking a little departure from our norm, I was so impressed with the new Glock 35 I thought I would write a review. Back in day when cops carried revolvers I was shooting in PPC competition with the title of Grand Master. Those days are long gone, but my interest in fine weapons remains.
Everyone and their mother has an opinion on a duty weapon for patrol officers. People will argue over caliber, action type, or some other option they hold near and dear to their heart. But the proof lies in the gun carried most by law enforcement officers, and the Glock in .40 S&W fills more police holsters in the U.S. than any other pistol. It has taken the market like nothing else out there, and with the new Gen4 design it will likely remain dominant for some time to come.
